“Africa Express: The Circus” took place in a green and yellow Big Top put up in Leytonstone specially for the event. The Big Top towered over the trees and when I saw it I was struck by the impact of such a temporary structure on the landscape. I was determined to capture the scene in particular the way that the sun caught the curves and contours of the canvas.
