Before the trees have started to bud, the beautiful nineteenth century crown court building can be seen from across eagle pond from Snaresbrook Road. I have always loved the view and when I sat to paint it, a swan came in to land on the pond. Swans are usually such graceful birds, but when they land on water, the sight is so comical that I had to include it in the painting.
