Chichester Cross in Chichester, West Sussex, is a 15th Century stone market cross. We visited Chichester on a windy, cold day in early March but I was determined to sketch the cross. The sketch itself was done in situe, on West Street. As the sun set and the light got dimmer and I colder, I finished up the sketch and moved indoors to paint from a reference photo I'd taken earlier.
